Mr. Hoopes graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho; the University of Idaho, in Moscow, Idaho, with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science; and the University of Idaho College of Law with a Juris Doctorate Degree.

Mr. Hoopes has over forty years of experience as a general practitioner.  He knows that a person’s legal business is of upmost importance to that person, is confidential, and is something they expect to be, and deserve have, done thoroughly, meticulously, and with exactness.

 

His trial practice includes work in Criminal Defense, Domestic Relations, and Personal Civil Litigation.  The office practice revolves around Estate Planning, Wills and Probate, Business Entity Formation and Operation, as well as real and personal Property Sales, Transfers, and Exchanges.  Mr. Hoopes has worked as a Criminal Public Defender; Chief Criminal Trial Attorney in a Prosecuting Attorney Office; served for eighteen years as General Counsel for a local Fire District from its very formation, to its daily operation, including negotiation of union contracts with the fire fighters; in creating and advising an agricultural Pipeline Association to deliver irrigation water to member farmers and entities; in creating and advising an agricultural Marketing Association; and all the while serving as private attorney for numerous individual clients in their business, domestic relations, and general litigation needs.  In the area of civic responsibilities Mr. Hoopes has served six years on a county Planning and Zoning Commission and one term as a County Commissioner.  Most importantly he has been married for nearly fifty years and with his wife has raised three child while being active in community, school, and church affairs.
